DFW Nerd Night

You're Invited. Always.

We play games and help people - that’s our motto, and our simple mission. Every month we host an event called “Nerd Night”, where we play board, card, and video games to raise awareness, money, and supplies for a charity cause, and often have live music and door prizes as well. Everybody’s invited, and all donations go to the charity of choice.

If you’re into playing games and/or helping people, this is the community for you!

Join us at our next Nerd Night!

Newsletter 4

Welcome to DFW Nerd Night, where we paper, scissor, rock!!

Aaaaand we’re back! What an amazing two weeks DFW Nerd Night has had! We’re sorry for the lack of a newsletter last week, as the whole crew was recovering from National Nerd Night and preparing for GenCon - we’re going to make it up in awesomeness, we promise!

For starters, National Nerd NIght was a RESOUNDING success! Across a dozen locations nationally we raised around $4,000 for Creative Play Project, to help them ship board games and learning materials to youth groups nationwide. As the founders of National Nerd Night we couldn’t be more proud of the participation we got from communities across the country.

Four days after N3 we hit the road and headed to Indianapolis for GenCon, the best four days in gaming, and the epicenter of the tabletop gaming world. Andrew, JR, and many other Nerd Nighters spent four straight days gaming, meeting people, learning about the industry, and making connections to help grow our little group.

Among the biggest news was our connection with industry leaders with regards to the community-building and charity work we’ve been doing, and a TON of people agreed to work with us to make our events even better. We’ve also got a LOT of guests lined up for The Nerd Nighters (live on YouTube Tuesday nights at 8:30 CST). Coming up next week: Tabitha Smith, one of the co-creators of TableTop Day and an integral part of Geek and Sundry, among other projects. We also look forward to an interview with game developer Andrew Valkauskas (Fate of the Norns) and possibly a surprise guest or two.
