DFW Nerd Night

You're Invited. Always.

We play games and help people - that’s our motto, and our simple mission. Every month we host an event called “Nerd Night”, where we play board, card, and video games to raise awareness, money, and supplies for a charity cause, and often have live music and door prizes as well. Everybody’s invited, and all donations go to the charity of choice.

If you’re into playing games and/or helping people, this is the community for you!

Join us at our next Nerd Night!

Things may seem dark today but a
Brighter Tomorrow is coming!

We're EXCITED to say that February's DFW Nerd Night parties will be for benefit of Brighter Tomorrows!

If you'd like to donate, please bring monetary donations to our February 13th Nerd Night party at Dallas Games Marathon, or our February 21st party at J Gilligan's in Arlington.

From their website:

The mission of Brighter Tomorrows is: "To empower victims of domestic violence and sexual violence by providing safe shelter, support services, and to reduce violence in our communities" 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence in her life time.

Brighter Tomorrows was founded in 1989 as a cooperative effort between the Grand Prairie City Council, Grand Prairie Police Department, Grand Prairie Human Services Coalition, and a group of concerned Citizens. We are a well thought out program with a staff that has a passion for assisting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Game Nights at the Ronald McDonald Houses of Fort Worth and Dallas

Since August 2012, DFW Nerd Night has been proud to host "Games Night" at the Fort Worth and Dallas Ronald McDonald Houses each month.

Families who stay at the RMH have children staying at local hospitals, and are able to live near their children because of generous gifts of the RMH and its donors. We try to do our part by playing games with the families and helping out around the houses for a few hours each month. It's as easy as playing Uno, Skip-Bo, or Spot It!

If you'd like to join us in playing games and supporting their mission, please contact us!

Nerd Night Toy Drive!

On December 21, 2013 DFW Nerd Night hosted its Toy Drive for benefit of Children's Medical Center of Dallas. These photos are of the epic loot drop that spawned at the CMC after Andrew took the gryphon to Dallas. We were told some amazing things:

This was the largest donation of toys that CMC received this year. It was also more toys than they currently had at the hospital - meaning that the DFWNN toy drive MORE THAN DOUBLED the CMC stock of toys.

Great job everybody!

Children's Medical Center Radiothon

On December 14th, ACE, JR, and Chris went to CMC in Dallas to jump on the phones and take donations for the hospital. Callers responded to a Radiothon drive hosted by 98.7 KLUV by calling and making donations. The guys managed to infiltrate the proceedings and spread a little love for The Nerd Nighters while raising money for a great cause... even getting some of Nerd Night's own to call in and donate!

Big Brothers/Big Sisters Holiday Party

On December 15th, Cody, Mike, Luc, Nathan, and JR traveled to Dallas to teach games at the BB/BS Holiday Party. They were helped by a fantastic crew of volunteers who set up tables, taught arts and crafts, served lunch, and event made a set of "Player Needed" and "Teacher Needed" signs to go with the games. Great job everybody!
